The Historic Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Elementary School
The Historic Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Elementary School is dedicated to educating the mind, body, and spirit of every child, with special emphasis on nurturing principles of respect, hard work, dignity, cooperation, commitment, and problem solving. The school provides a challenging curriculum in pre-kindergarten through grade five, implemented with flexibility to meet the individual needs of more than 400 students. The University of Maryland School of Social Work is actively involved in this community resource school, providing support services to children and families, and community partnerships further contribute to school life.

Before and After

Testimonials
When it was opened, it became the heart of the school. Most every function was held in the library and for great reason. It is a beautiful, attractive, and vibrant space that inspires all who enter. I will never forget my students' faces at the preview of the opening—radiant with joy, to put it into words.
